Be strong gentlemen, this might have sounded like a low point in your lives as film fans, but just remember that this is cinema’s lowest point of the year. Everyone will say that this is because the Oscars (and Baftas) are long gone, meaning the dross films are being heaved out with no plans of ever impressing the award shortlists. My take is that because the days are getting longer in the northern hemisphere (where most filmmakers, distributors and moviegoers are) you have a greater than average risk of leaving the cinema after an early evening film and exiting in daylight…. this happened to me yesterday and it threw me off completely. Cinema is best in the winter, with award season approaching and long dark nights to draw you into your local picture palace.

Sorry I didn’t make it Nashville last week Mr. Loe… ended up in Michigan where I almost burnt down a national park and very nearly returned my rental car with a possum wedged in the grille. Great vacation :)

Glad to know that we are not alone in feeling that 10,000 B.C. is an affront God and Man.

Hey guys, laughing aloud out here at the fact that you are so surprised that anyone is listening. I downloaded your original podcasts more than a year ago and have been anxiously hoping for your return. Me and my friend used to listen to you every week on the way to work and some of your phrases have entered our vocabulary. “Get me Hugh Jackman!”.

Jett, the suspense is actually killing me, what is this picture that revitalised your faith??

As far as 10,000BC is concerned, I have seen this and you are right, its utterley soulless. Gotta love the guy who pointed out that “they were speaking english” when there was so much else wrong with the film it was unreal.

Looking on the bright side, talking about this movie with the people I saw it with has been really enjoyable, laughing about how bad it was helped me survive the experience. I believe that if I had been going alone (and I rarely do this apart from the very best films) I might have had a similiar experience to poor Gareth.

However, there have been worse films recently. Gentleman, I refer you to “The Accidental Husband”, a film so dire that I was almost physically sick. It is actually insulting to women that filmakers expect them to be satisfied with this rubbish.

Anyway, don’t worry about dissapointing me, I love the podcast whether you are getting along or not!
