Jett’s Selection: Most Under-rated Film of the Decade
Hey there folks – it’s our fourth weekly newsletter and things have been so busy round here that we’ve only had time for a couple of posts. Our most recent show, Episode 103: Everybody’s Fine/Paper Heart, is now available for your listening pleasure, in which Jett and I surprise ourselves with the reminder that Robert de Niro can be a compelling screen presence, and we hear about the delightful Charlyne Yi’s pseudo-documentary ‘Paper Heart’.
Before we recorded the show we continued our hurtling-toward-the-end-of-the-first-ten-years-of-the-millennium with a couple of posts, called, with clarity if inelegance, 81 Films of the Decade and the 10 Most Under-rated Films of the Decade (our respective #1 choices have caused a bit of a stir)
Gareth’s Selection: Favourite Film of the Decade
There’s been some energetic discussion on the site about these thoughts; I’ve already been reminded of two or three films that I had forgotten, and will be posting a revised appendix to the list of the films of the decade soon. We’ll discuss all the lists on the next show, Episode 104 – look for it sometime this weekend.
Meantime, take care and keep in touch.
PS: Don’t forget that our friends at The Auteurs are very generously offering a free movie download to all TFT listeners – just click on The Auteurs picture below, and enter the promo code ‘thefilmtalk’ for an immediate passport to cinematic amazement.
