Went to see Hamlet 2 today.
You would think that doing a podcast would keep you anonymous – but lo and behold while ordering an espresso outside the cinema before the movie started a gentleman, (‘Joe’ pictured above on the left), recognized my voice.
“Hey, aren’t you Jett Loe?”
“Yes.”
“I love The Film Talk!”
Once I recovered from the shock of running into an actual listener I bought ‘Joe’ a coffee, we chatted and ended up seeing the movie together. He gave me some valuable feedback about the show and I was glad to meet him.
Oh, and was Hamlet 2 any good? Let’s just say there won’t be a Hamlet 3 Dear Listener.
No-say it ain't so! Haven't seen it yet but I love saying 'rock me sexy Jesus!'
I laughed consistently throughout the film but yet it failed. For 'SPOILER AHOY' reasons I won't go farther – perhaps in an episode coming up if we can get the good Professor Doctor to see it.
Seems like the selection lately, aside from Wall-E and Batman, has been very poor.
I agree – am looking forward to seeing some decent friggin' films. I'm tired of the crap.
Speaking of TFT encountering the real world:
Gareth – Sorry not to see your Films of the Year review at Greenbelt, hope you're having a good one and that it's keeping dry.
The natural question here is, are those tattoos? Doe Joe write notes to himself, like in “Memento”?
I wonder if Jett/Gareth may do the same when taking notes for films they are reviewing?
Yep. They're tatts. Got them on a whim about five years ago. They always spark conversation, but I usually forget they are there.
What do they all say? I see that some are obscured by your shirt.
