P.S. I’m a fan of River’s work – she’s a pro – punchy and professional and blue – and one of the great pioneers of stand-up: it’s tough enough going up on stage – but for a woman? In the male dominated world of stand-up – in the ’60s? She’s up there with Pryor, Bruce and Mabley – trailblazers all.
