I find the above video so enduring. The visionary director, who decades ago prophesied ‘electronic cinema’, putters around his office, holding what I imagine to be a Macbook Air, and speaks directly to you.
Gone is the grandiosity, the posturing, the suffocating ambition. Just a guy. Talkin’ on YouTube about his project.
Who would have thought?

That is just lovely – I've heard actors on Coppola films say that he creates a family atmosphere – cooking and dancing and singing together in the extensive rehearsal period. I think it's so sweet seeing him spin around in his chair and invite us to his new movie. The guy never made a movie I didn't find interesting on some level – the masterpieces of course, but 'Youth without Youth', 'Dracula', even 'Peggy Sue Got Married' deliver something that deserves to be taken seriously. His new YouTube video makes me very much look forward to 'Tetro'.
Yeah, for the first time in years I'm looking forward to a Coppola pic.

Also – I would envision FFC's office as more “palatial” – and in fact, it's just some old house.

[...] For more ‘Tetro’ goodness here’s Coppola talking about the project from his home office. [...]
