A pleasant surprise of an interview for anyone out there who knows that The Exorcist is great, and enjoys Bergmans both Ingmar and Ingrid, but who recognise that the movies we saw as children (and the terrible English accents) will never leave us:

I don't know about other frequenters of this site – but that is the scariest picture you've ever posted Gareth!

p.s. I've never seen Mary Poppins. I know. What's wrong with me?

Er, I apologise in advance. I don't mean to spam this site with links to my own. My site is not even a film site really, but I do like to spread the word about Chitty Chitty Bang Bang whenever possible. There's a lot more to that film than meets the eye. See http://www.stanleyrumm.com/?p=8
    I never liked Mary Poppins.

And in the interest of full-disclosure, if I can be allowed one final, final plug, your listeners/ readers may be interested to hear of my theory on why Brazil is called Brazil. http://www.stanleyrumm.com/?p=12

Again, apologies. I won't do it again (unless absolutely necessary). Keep up the good work!

It's not spam if the content is interesting :)

enjoyed your ruminations on Brazil – and started to read your post on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but as I have not seen the film thought it best to wait –

+ re: your comment in the Chitty post; the Original Casino Royale is quite possibly my favourite bond pic!

I didn't see that Casino Royale in a while, but it could be I'd agree with you if I saw it again. I can't see that happening very soon though.
*But* I'll go buy the dvd right away and watch it within a few weeks if you do likewise with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. That movie is one of the all-time greats of film -not only “children's film”.
Besides my CCBB Theory post above, I also do a shot-rundown of the movie here http://www.stanleyrumm.com/?p=7
[I feel better posting those links now that you told me it's ok ;) ]

It runs over 4 webpages, detailing the movie. You should go take a look at the first few pages at least and then rush out and buy the movie -or get it on netflix or torre… er, wherever you source these things.
