For most of them this was a moral decision - to become traitors to their own country in time of war to remove an arch criminal, while putting thier wives, children and friends at extreme risk. I can think of very few actions braver than that. These people have been largely ignored for 60 years, especially in North America. Valkyrie is not a war movie....it is a movie that is set during the war.  Its also factually accurate save some minor compresion of characters and events. The first 6 minutes have the only battle secene in the film.
